In 1989, a movie called Back to the Future Part II was released.  In the movie, Marty McFly got into a time machine and flew into the future... October 21st, 2015.  He landed in a place where everyone wore dumb clothes and had lots of high tech technology like flying skateboards and flying cars.  In fact, Doc Brown says, "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads."

When asked of the possibilities of having all this high tech stuff by the end of the year, a Field student replied:
So flying cars are almost impossible.  This is why, because scientists would have to find something that makes you hover... not as much as rocket ships.  And they would have to make a new steering wheels and engines.  And they would have to make clothes way lamer and everyone would have to wear those clothes.  Global warming would also have to stop, because they didn't think of it in the 1980's.
The Field student also wondered how garbage trucks would work:
How do they get the trash cans up to the flying garbage trucks?
Descending into a fit of confusion, the Field student continued:
What if something gets stuck in the stuff that makes it fly?  How would they continue to fly?  Also, how would they park?
This Field student holds little hope in our Back to the Future future.

Check out the Countdown Clock for how long we have left.  As of this blog post, we have 8 months.
